MEDIA LITERACY UNIT

Dear Parents,
Media is very pervasive in today's society. The students have recently started a unit on Media Literacy and have been very enthusiastic and involved in the learning process. We will be examining media messages in our everyday environment and interpreting their meanings. We have already looked at a number of media tricks or techniques which advertisers use to influence and entice consumers and have discussed stereotypes in the media and their impact on how we view people.
If you have any extra newspapers, magazines, flyers or brochures (even junk mail) around your home, we would appreciate donations to our classroom for use in our Media Literacy Unit. Please send any materials with your son or daughter at your earliest convenience. We appreciate your contribution to our learning!
