Social Studies Quiz on Tuesday, Nov. 4 for 6A/B

on Tuesday, November 4, insha Allah.  The quiz will  be on the first section of our Trade Unit, pages 15-17 in the booklet.

Problem Solving Update from Tr. Rania

I would like to inform you that in Math we started chapter 4 which is about adding , subtracting, and rounding whole numbers + adding, subtracting and rounding decimal numbers.

Also we will be working on how to apply the problem solving 4 step plan in all problem solving problems.

Quran Update from Tr. Hadia

Assalamu Alaikum respected parents.

Mashallah we have finished Surat At-tahreem this week with both grade 6.

Inshallah they will be tested on the whole Surah on Friday. November 7th. 

They will be marked on memorization, Tajweed rules application and new vocabulary.

They will get a rubric sent home with their mark if you can kindly sign it and send it back to me.

Attached is a list of all the new vocabulary they learnt from the surah. Please help them get ready for the test inshallah.

Islamic Studies Test on Wednesday, October 29th

Assalamu Alaikum,

This is a reminder to all 6B students that there will be an Islamic Studies Test on Wednesday, October 29.  The test will cover Chapters 1 and 2 of the Unit on Prophet Musa (AS).

Math Test

Asalamo Alikom Dear Parents

InshaAllah Grade 6 will have a Math Test on Tuesday October 28th.

The test will be on chapter 2 Numeration lessons 2,3,4,6,7,8.

Students have to revise all practices that we did together in their notebooks.

Abraar School T-Shirt Design Contest!

This year's slogan "Treat others as you want to be treated" should be incorporated into the design. Please submit your design to Tr. Tessa in person or by email  - for elementary school participants please submit to the office.

Submission deadline: Friday October 24th.

CONTEST RULES

1. Only ONE design per student.
2. Design Size: 8 inches x 10 inches.
3. Background of the design should be white.
4. The design must contain a maximum of 3 colours.
5. It can be hand drawn or computer generated (no photographs please)
1. If hand drawn: we should be able to scan it.
2. If computer generated: file should be in the .jpg format.
6. The design must contain the slogan "Treat others as you want to be treated"
7. All art work must be student’s original and not copyrighted.
8. This competition is open to all grade levels.

التعبير :كتابة فقرة عن اليوم الأول  في المدرسة  2- وصف البيت 

وفي الفترة القادمة  - إن شاء الله - سوف نغطي في المنهج الدراسي ما يلي:

القواعد :- الجملة الفعلية      (الفاعل وأنواعه )  (  المفعول به وأنواعه ).

NO SCHOOL ON OCTOBER 10 and OCTOBER 13, 2014

Assalamu Alaikum Dear Parents,

Please be reminded of the upcoming Professional Development Day for Abraar Staff tomorrow.  There will be NO SCHOOL for students on Friday, October 10 or on Monday, October 13, due to the Thanksgiving statutory holiday.  Classes will resume on Tuesday, October 14, 2014.

Alhumdulillah, 6B wins FIRST Salah Cup!!

Assalamu alaikum,

Abraar School is currently implementing a Salah program where we assess student’s salah performance and respect to this important ritual. 

Each week, one class is selected to receive the Salah Cup for their excellent performance, which includes respectful entrance and exit to the gym, proper performance of Salah, and appropriate tasbeeh before and after salah.

Congratulations to Grade 6B for winning the first Salah Cup last Friday.
